Manufacturer Provided Description
The Legacy 34 Sedan is offered with or without a flybridge. With the flybridge, the inside and outside helm stations allow the owner to take advantage of the weather or avoid facing it entirely. Accessible by ladder from the cockpit, the flybridge offers increased visibility and an exhilarating vantage point for driver and guests. Without the flybridge, the Legacy 34 Sedan achieves a more workmanlike look that's clean and capable. Either way, the living space in the enclosed main saloon offers a 360-degree view from every seat in the house. White Formica offset by mahogany, teak, or cherry woodwork and cabinetry give the boat's living space a crisp, nautical feel (an all wood interior is also an option). In addition, a starboard door provides easy access to the sidedecks for docking and the aft door gives access to the cockpit. Down in the galley of Legacy 34 Sedan there's plenty of light and convenient prep space. Directly across the companionway is a roomy head, and the master stateroom's double berth is island-style so it offers the comforts of home. Beneath the sole of the main saloon is a generously sized engine compartment that houses either single or twin diesel engines. The Legacy 34 engine compartment is well thought out with plenty of elbow room and convenient access to maintenance points. To keep it well organized and safeguarded, wiring and hoses are run through conduits. Engine beds have been flexibly configured to accept a variety of popular engine sizes. The Legacy 34 Sedan's ride is soft, and roll is dampened significantly; she tracks well even in cross or quartering seas, and she corners with astonishingly little heel. But more importantly, while many planing hulls have to run at high speeds to achieve plane and level out the bow, the Legacy 34 lifts onto a plane at just 12 knots. She runs at a shallow angle, affording her helmsman consistently good visibility no matter how much throttle is applied, and her underbody configuration allows her to go faster while using less fuel. The Legacy hull is balsa-cored uni- and bidirectional E-glass and polyester resin with an outer laminate of vinylester resin for improved resistance to blistering. Directional weave fabrics are selected to orient the fiber in the direction of the loads, so that the Legacy 34's hull is as strong and as light as possible. High-density foam stringers replace conventional wood ones to eliminate the transfer of engine vibration and, again, to meet high targets of stiffness, strength, and optimal weight. Three structural bulkheads are glassed to the hull to form watertight compartments, and the hull - deck joint is bonded and mechanically fastened on six-inch centers to the inboard turning hull flange. Her sound insulation package is state-of-the-art baffling with foam and lead shielding; in addition - because wood transmits noise and vibration - a cored composite sub-sole is placed beneath the teak and holly cabin sole. All deck hardware on the Legacy 34 Sedan is forged of type 316 stainless for years of trouble-free dependability. The bow rail surrounds the deck, extending the secure feeling of bulwarks in type 316 stainless, and only the best marine brand names have been selected in the outfitting. The Legacy 34 Sedan is built by hand in the USA and all major components are made in America.
